Twist-on wire connectors are a type of electrical connector used to fasten two or more low-voltage conductors. They're typically installed by hand by being twisted onto the stripped ends of wires. The wires are then drawn into the connector's metal insert and twisted and squeezed together inside. Twist-on connectors are not often used on wire gauges larger than 10 AWG because the solid wires are too stiff to be reliably connected with this method. Twisting installation made easier with the wings.
