NYLONÂ CABLE GLANDS: PG THREADÂ
PG cable glands are useful when creating water-tight pass-throughs for cables. They protect and secure cables through their internal seals. Ferrules Direct offers a wide range of PG sizes in a variety of materials and colors. These glands are easy to use and built to handle tough conditions.
The PG stands for Panzer-Gewinde, which is a German style thread, compared to the NPT (National Pipe Thread) that is more commonly used in the United States. The PG thread has a smaller depth, but a larger flank angle. This makes it have a wider pitch along with a straight thread. For more information on thread differences, please see our blog post:Â
